Team Vitality: V.Hive remains shut after the Sébastopol looting

"Je viens de vivre un rêve éveillé avec notre performance à Shanghai et aujourd’hui, à des milliers de kilomètres, je vois une partie de moi partir en fumée," wrote Fabien "Neo" Devide, co-founder and chief executive of Team Vitality, on X on October 17, 2026 (Team-aAa). Looters hit V.Hive on Boulevard de Sébastopol, in the third arrondissement, and the October 18, 2026 statement said the venue stays closed while the damage is assessed: windows destroyed, trophies and computers stolen, no staff or fans hurt.

What the October 18 statement confirmed

GosuGamers published the club statement in English and labelled it a machine translation. "Today, the premises of our club were looted on the sidelines of the mobilisation on October 17," it read. "Fortunately, none of our staff members nor any fans were injured. On the other hand, our display windows were destroyed, and our trophies and computer equipment were stolen." The venue would stay closed until the damage was known (GosuGamers).

HLTV had already filed, on October 17, 2026, under the byline king_dempz. Social posts showed smashed windows and gaming chairs thrown onto a fire, and the venue manager said there were no injuries because the building was closed to the public and to staff (HLTV).

No repair cost has been published.

L'Équipe, that Sunday, called Vitality the biggest esports club in France and said the headquarters were vandalised and looted on Saturday, in the spillover from the demonstrations (L'Équipe). Sheep Esports' October 17, 2026 headline called it vandalism at the gaming café. HLTV described protests over school conditions and the cost of living. Tobias Wren's Esports Insider piece, dated October 18, 2026, said Vitality had set no reopening date.

The StarLadder cup the reports named

One Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) trophy drew the cameras. HLTV would only say a social post "suggests" the StarLadder StarSeries trophy was stolen. GosuGamers named the StarLadder StarSeries Fall 2026 cup, won on September 20, 2026, when Vitality beat Aurora Gaming 3-1 in the Barcelona final. The site called it the team's sixth trophy of 2026. Esports Insider credited GosuGamers for the name and said no full list was out (Esports Insider).

Vitality's own line, in that translation, is "our trophies". It names no event. Until the club lists the missing pieces, the StarLadder cup is a reported loss, and a clip is not an inventory.

€3.50 an hour, and a post sent from Shanghai

Devide's post, in the French text Team-aAa reproduced, is mostly about the room. V.Hive came from a childhood in cybercafés, when home internet cost too much. Sessions have stayed at €3.50 an hour since opening, never raised despite inflation. Esports Insider and GosuGamers both date that opening to 2019 and the floor to about 400 square metres.

The post defends the right to demonstrate and says looting has no place in a protest, a passage HLTV carried in English that night. GosuGamers tied Shanghai to the grand final of VALORANT Champions 2026. Neither text gives a map score.

A public floor, not a locked office

No report ties the closure to a CS2 or VALORANT schedule change. The loss is a room that sells time by the hour. A café is not the same asset as a roster, and the statement leaves V.Hive closed, with no damage figure and no reopening date. Walk-in play is the part a roster graphic does not replace.

Separately, organisers confirmed on May 22, 2026 that the Esports World Cup 2026 would be held in Paris rather than Riyadh. That was a tournament move. It does not describe Boulevard de Sébastopol.

On October 15, 2026, The Fair Stake reported that Team Vitality was closing Vitality.Bee after nine years in the Ligue Française de League of Legends (LFL). That story is the academy team shutting down. This one is the Paris venue. They are not the same event.
