How the Bills at 21 cents lead a split 2027 AFC title market
The Buffalo Bills YES on Polymarket's Pro Football: 2027 AFC Champion market was 21¢ at 09:50 UTC on October 14, 2026, a 21% implied chance of winning the American Football Conference (AFC) title. A proportional de-vig of the DraftKings board on October 13 puts a fair price at 16.2%, a 4.8 percentage-point gap against that YES.
A week earlier on the same board, the lead ran the other way. Fetched at 09:50 UTC on October 14, 2026, the one-week price change was plus 3.5 cents on the Buffalo Bills and minus 2 cents on the Kansas City Chiefs, which puts Kansas City near 19.5¢ and Buffalo near 17.5¢ seven days before. Buffalo now leads at 21¢, 3.5 cents clear of Kansas City at 17.5¢, with the Baltimore Ravens at 14.5¢ and the Jacksonville Jaguars at 12.5¢. The cents rose. The gap did not turn Buffalo into a separated favourite. DraftKings, updated October 13, 2026, still had Buffalo, Kansas City and Baltimore tied at +420 (5.20 decimal).
What the 21-cent YES settles
Each listed team is its own YES. The market resolves to the winner of the 2027 AFC championship game, using official NFL information as the primary source. An eliminated club resolves to No. If the game is cancelled, postponed after March 31, 2027 ET, or has no declared winner in that window, the event resolves to Other. The listed end is 03:59 UTC on April 1, 2027.
Paying 21¢ buys a $1 share. At the same fetch the book was 20¢ bid and 22¢ ask, and the last trade printed at 21¢. Event volume was about $3.86 million. The Bills leg had traded about $35,647. About $1,141 changed hands across the event in 24 hours.
Listed YES prices on the 16 clubs sum to 99.25¢. Over the past month Buffalo rose 5.5 cents, from near 15.5¢, while Kansas City rose 8.5 cents, from near 9¢. Buffalo leads because it started that month higher.
Is the Buffalo Bills YES at 21¢ value on the 2027 AFC champion contract? On this reading, no. A share at 21¢, fetched at 09:50 UTC on October 14, 2026, pays $1 if Buffalo wins the 2027 AFC championship game, so the price reads as a 21% chance before fees and the spread. The same snapshot had a 20¢ bid and a 22¢ ask. Kansas City was 17.5¢, Baltimore 14.5¢ and Jacksonville 12.5¢. Those four add to 65.5¢, and the 16 listed YES prices add to 99.25¢, one trophy rather than 16 separate bets. If Buffalo is eliminated under NFL rules, this YES resolves to No. If the game is cancelled, postponed after March 31, 2027 ET, or has no declared winner in that window, the event resolves to Other. The listed end is 03:59 UTC on April 1, 2027, with official NFL information as the primary source. Against a 16.2% de-vig of the October 13 DraftKings board, 21% is 4.8 percentage points rich.
How the 16.2% figure was built
DraftKings, on October 13, 2026, posted an American price for all 16 AFC teams. The estimate is a proportional de-vig of that board. An American price of +420 converts to decimal 5.20, because 420 divided by 100, plus 1, is 5.20. The raw implied chance is 100 divided by 520, which is 19.23%. The same conversion on every club produces a raw book of 118.96%. Dividing each raw chance by 1.1896 strips the overround in proportion to the raw price. Buffalo's 19.23% becomes 16.2%.
Raw implied chance equals 100 divided by the American price plus 100. Sum the 16 raw chances, then divide Buffalo's raw chance by that sum. The table below uses that method and rounds to two decimals.
Two stamps sit a day apart, which is why 4.8 percentage points is a disagreement rather than a precise edge. The settlement texts differ too. This event can resolve a team to No on elimination, and to Other if there is no winner by March 31, 2027 ET. The 16.2% figure assumes Josh Allen keeps playing. It has no injury term.
Five games is a short sample for a January trophy.
Is the Buffalo Bills contract at 21¢ value for the 2027 AFC championship? Not against the de-vigged DraftKings board. That book, updated on October 13, 2026, tied Buffalo, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Baltimore Ravens at +420, or 5.20 in decimal. An American price of +420 converts as 100 divided by 520, which is 19.23% before the vig. The raw implied chances on all 16 AFC teams on that board sum to 118.96%. Dividing 19.23 by 118.96 gives 16.2%. Polymarket's YES, fetched at 09:50 UTC on October 14, 2026, was 21¢, a 21% implied chance, 4.8 percentage points above that figure. Even the 20¢ bid sits about 3.8 percentage points above 16.2%. Five games is a short sample, the two prices are a day apart, and a proportional de-vig is one way to strip an overround, so 4.8 points is a disagreement rather than a figure to treat as exact. The contract leads a split market. It does not clear the book.
Why a 4-1 Bills side can still print the highest price
Buffalo's case starts with the season on the page. NFL.com listed the club at 4-1 and first in the AFC East on October 14, 2026, a day after a 37-34 overtime win at the Los Angeles Rams. Diario AS had Buffalo on 164 points scored and 141 allowed, 32.8 a game scored and 28.2 allowed. Kansas City, 4-0 after a Week 5 bye, has scored 29.5 a game, Baltimore 29.2 and Jacksonville 24.6.
Twelve regular-season games remain, plus a bye in Week 7. DraftKings had Buffalo at +500 before the season and at +420 on October 13. Polymarket added 2 cents in a day, to 21¢, after the Rams win.
"But, yeah, it's another tough task, but the goal remains the same, and that's to bring a Lombardi Trophy to Western New York. And we're going to do everything in our power to make that happen."
Josh Allen, quarterback, Buffalo Bills (NFL.com, June 26, 2026)
Allen said that in June, on NFL Network's The Insiders, after Sean McDermott's exit following a divisional-round loss to Denver and the hire of offensive coordinator Joe Brady. The trophy he named is the Super Bowl. This contract pays on the AFC championship only. A July reading of Josh Allen's MVP price was a different market again, and an August reading of Dallas at 6 cents on the NFC board is a different contract. None of those tickets settles this YES.
Scoring rate, the division lead, and a fresh road win can support a plurality. They do not support a price 4.8 percentage points above a book that will not separate Buffalo from Kansas City and Baltimore.
Why Kansas City, Baltimore and Jacksonville keep it split
Jacksonville has the cleaner argument on points allowed: 70 in five games, 14.0 a game, and a differential of plus 53. Kansas City's differential is plus 41. Baltimore's is plus 27. Buffalo's plus 23 is the soft side of that group.
Points scored, divided by points scored plus points allowed, is 53.8% for Buffalo (164 of 305), 55.1% for Baltimore (146 of 265), 60.5% for Kansas City (118 of 195) and 63.7% for Jacksonville (123 of 193). The best points share in the cluster is priced at 12.5¢. The worst of the four is priced at 21¢. Five games can lie, and a points share ignores schedule and turnovers. It is still the wrong shape for a separated favourite.
On the October 13 update, DraftKings lengthened Buffalo from +405 to +420, Baltimore from +405 to +420, and Kansas City from +400 to +420. Jacksonville shortened from +600 to +470, a raw implied chance of 17.54% and a de-vigged 14.75%, against a Polymarket price of 12.5¢. On this method the Jaguars YES is the cheap side of the cluster, by 2.3 percentage points, and Buffalo is the rich side. The prediction market calls Buffalo the leader. The sportsbook calls it a three-way tie.
"We had just fumbled on the previous one and look, I have all the trust in James [Cook] and I didn't want to run two QB sneaks with the thought process of putting the ball in harm's way, taking some shots on Josh."
Joe Brady, head coach, Buffalo Bills (Buffalo Bills, October 13, 2026)
Brady said that on the Tuesday after the Rams win, explaining a 45-yard field goal out of the two-minute warning in overtime rather than two kneel-downs. The remark is about one series, and it shows the staff already choosing plays to keep Allen off the ground. A 21¢ conference price has him on the field in January.
Where DraftKings and the contract disagree
Every AFC club sits on one line below. Polymarket prices are the YES outcome prices fetched at 09:50 UTC on October 14, 2026. DraftKings prices are the October 13 board. Raw implied chance is 100 divided by the American price plus 100. De-vigged chance divides that raw figure by 1.1896. Edge is de-vigged chance minus Polymarket chance. A negative edge means the YES is richer than the book.

Kansas City's last trade printed at 20¢ while the displayed book was 17¢ bid and 18¢ ask, so 17.5¢ is a mid. On that last trade, Buffalo's lead is 1 cent. The leg also carries a taker-only fee with a 0.03 rate, an exponent of 1 and a 0.25 rebate, and that cost is not inside the 21¢ figure. Buffalo is the outlier on the rich side. Jacksonville at 12.5¢ against a 14.75% de-vig is where this book is cheaper.
Where the 21-cent price breaks
Four inputs hold the 4.8 percentage-point gap together. Remove any one and the rich reading of this YES no longer stands.
- The YES trades at 16¢ or lower. That matches the October 13 de-vig. At 16¢ the gap versus that book is gone. A print at the 20¢ bid does not do it, because the bid is still about 3.8 percentage points above 16.2%.
- DraftKings shortens Buffalo to +330 or shorter while Polymarket stays near 21¢. A price of +330 implies 23.3% before the vig, because 100 divided by 430 is 23.3%. If the book crosses that level and this contract does not follow, the rich reading flips. The tie at +420 is the anchor, not a permanent one.
- Josh Allen is ruled out of a game. The 16.2% figure has no injury term. An absence moves the fair price and the contract together, and the table stops being the right comparison. Brady's overtime comments already show the staff managing hits on the quarterback. A listed absence would make that a market fact.
- Buffalo loses at home to Baltimore on November 1, 2026. That is the first meeting with a co-favourite on the DraftKings tie. A loss does not eliminate anyone. It removes the idea that 21¢ is paying for a separation the book will not give.
The October and November dates that can move it
Sunday, October 18, 2026, sends Buffalo to the Las Vegas Raiders at 4:25 p.m. EDT. Brady said the club would practise at UC Irvine and fly to Las Vegas on Saturday, then take a bye in Week 7. A loss would hit a contract that rose 2 cents in a day.
Baltimore is the date that matches the price. NFL.com lists Buffalo at home against the Ravens on November 1, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. EST, then at the Minnesota Vikings on November 9 at 8:15 p.m. EST. Neither night settles the YES.
Win totals, including the July 2026 win-totals piece, grade a season count. This YES grades one playoff game.
What one cent changes on a one-dollar share
At 21¢, a share that pays $1 returns 79¢ of profit if it settles Yes, which is 79 divided by 21, or 3.76 times the stake before fees. At 16.2¢ the profit multiple is 83.8 divided by 16.2, or 5.17 times. That gap is the whole argument in payout form.
Spread width spends part of any claim that 21¢ is the tradable price. The ask was 22¢, 5.8 percentage points above 16.2%. The bid was 20¢, still 3.8 points above the de-vigged book. From 21¢ to 22¢ the profit multiple falls from 3.76 to 3.55 (78 divided by 22). From 21¢ to 20¢ it rises to 4.00 (80 divided by 20). None of those prints reaches the October 13 book.
Because the fee is a schedule rather than a posted cent, the 4.8 percentage-point gap is measured on the displayed price. A taker does not trade there for free. On about $1,141 of daily event volume, a modest order can print the next cent. Treat 21¢ as a snapshot.
FAQ
What are the Bills' odds to win the 2027 AFC championship?
At 09:50 UTC on October 14, 2026, Polymarket priced the Buffalo Bills YES at 21¢, a 21% implied chance before fees and the spread. DraftKings, updated October 13, 2026, had Buffalo at +420 (5.20 decimal), tied with Kansas City and Baltimore. After a proportional de-vig of that full board, the figure is 16.2%.
Does 21 cents mean a 21% chance?
On this contract, yes, as a market-implied chance. A YES share costs 21¢ and pays $1 if Buffalo wins the 2027 AFC championship game, so the price reads as 21% before the spread and before the taker fee. The live book was 20¢ to 22¢, a band rather than a single print. It is the market's number, not a forecast that Buffalo wins 21 times in every 100 seasons.
Is Buffalo at 21 cents value on this contract?
Not against the de-vigged DraftKings board from October 13, 2026. That method puts Buffalo at 16.2%, 4.8 percentage points below the 21¢ price, and the 20¢ bid is still above 16.2%. The displayed lead over Kansas City is 3.5 cents, while Kansas City's last trade was 20¢. A week earlier the Chiefs were the higher price. The gap is large enough to call the YES rich, and too rough to treat as an exact edge.
When does the 2027 AFC champion market resolve?
It resolves to the winner of the 2027 AFC championship game. Official NFL information is the primary source. An eliminated club resolves to No. If the game is cancelled, postponed after March 31, 2027 ET, or has no declared winner in that window, the event resolves to Other. The listed end is 03:59 UTC on April 1, 2027.
Buffalo's next kickoff is at the Raiders on October 18, 2026, at 4:25 p.m. EDT, with Baltimore due in Buffalo on November 1 at 1:00 p.m. EST. The YES stays open through the 2027 AFC championship, and the contract's own backstop is March 31, 2027 ET, with the event end at 03:59 UTC on April 1, 2027.
