League Worlds 2026 debutants include Siwoo and Smash
23 players are on a first-time list for Worlds 2026, the League of Legends (LoL) tally Anna Bernardo published at GosuGamers on October 8, 2026. Play-Ins open on October 15 in Los Angeles. The final is on November 14 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn. A United States visa can still knock one name off.
Play-In holds the largest share of first Worlds names
The Play-In is four teams in a best-of-five, double-elimination bracket. The Worlds 2026 primer draws Karmine Corp, Cloud9 KIA, MVK Esports and the Campeonato Brasileiro de League of Legends (CBLOL) second seed at random after October 10. Series start at 11 a.m. PDT, and one team advances.
Karmine Corp bring Caliste Henry-Hennebert and Kang "kyeahoo" Ye-hoo. Cloud9 KIA bring Park "Thanatos" Seung-gyu and Lee "Loki" Sang-min. MVK bring Ngô Đức "Kratos" Khánh, Võ Lê "Chika" Nhân, Nguyễn Văn "Harky" Hữu and Nguyễn "SiuLoong" Hoàng Lam. LOS have four names on the list and FURIA three. Only one Brazilian side is the second seed, so 11 or 12 of the 23 debuts sit where three teams go home.
Dplus KIA miss that cut. Jeon "Siwoo" Si-woo, Shin "Smash" Geum-jae and Oh "Career" Hyeong-seok enter Swiss as the League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) fourth seed. Siwoo took Most Solo Kills at the 2025 LCK Awards and was part of Dplus KIA's 3-0 Esports World Cup win over Karmine Corp.
A second visa denial already edits the Top Esports list
Cheng "ZUIAN" Zihao is why 23 is provisional. GosuGamers reported on October 6 that Top Esports had announced two failed United States visa interviews. Bai "369" Jiahao is lined up while the club seeks a third interview.
Counting ZUIAN among 23 certain debuts does not match that announcement. 369 reached Worlds semifinals in 2023 and 2025, so he is not a first-timer. If he starts in Allen on October 23, the debut count is 22 before a Play-In game is played, and Wang "Zhuo" Xuzhuo is the Top Esports player still debuting.
"For pros, it’s a chance to push beyond their limits," the Worlds 2026 primer from LoL Esports says.
Smash, Caliste and Saint arrive with titles, not a blank page
Smash is a poor mascot for a rookie class. He was LCK Rookie of the Year and Esports World Cup most valuable player, with an 8.57 kill-death-assist ratio across 14 games. Career, his support, posted 71.6% kill participation in that same run. The Esports World Cup is not Worlds. That is why debut still fits.
Caliste was League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) Summer 2026 most valuable player after Karmine Corp went 18-2, then the side finished third. He has played a Mid-Season Invitational and an Esports World Cup final. His first Worlds still starts in the Play-In.
Kang "Saint" Seong-in helped LYON sweep G2 Esports 3-0 at the 2026 Mid-Season Invitational. The League Championship Series (LCS) second seed skips Los Angeles.
Zhuo has been in the League of Legends Pro League (LPL) since 2018, with Demacia Cup titles in 2020 and 2021. Pedro "Tatu" Seixas, CBLOL Split 1 most valuable player, played T1 at the 2026 Mid-Season Invitational and reaches Worlds only because FURIA qualified. First Worlds is not the same thing as unknown.
Tier-1 LoL teams in the Americas and EMEA can carry betting sponsors this season, the shift in Riot's decision to let those teams take sportsbook deals. The legal betting age is 18 or 21 depending on the jurisdiction.
