Belgian Grand Prix 2026 odds: Antonelli favourite at Spa

Kimi Antonelli remains the favourite for the Belgian Grand Prix on July 19, 2026, but a Mercedes failure at Silverstone and Charles Leclerc’s resurgent Ferrari have tightened a title race that looked settled a month ago.

Formula 1 returns to Spa-Francorchamps on July 17–19, 2026 for round 12, and the market still leans one way. bet365 prices Antonelli at -188 to win the drivers’ championship, with Mercedes team-mate George Russell at +300 and Lewis Hamilton at +600 (odds via Covers, July 11, 2026). In American odds, -188 means a $188 stake returns $100 profit, or 1.53 in decimal.

Key Facts:

• Antonelli leads on 179 points, 25 clear of Russell (154), Hamilton third on 147 — standings after the British Grand Prix
• bet365 title odds: Antonelli -188 (1.53), Russell +300 (4.00), Hamilton +600 (7.00) — Covers, July 11, 2026
• Mercedes are -1000 (1.10) for the constructors’ title; Ferrari the only challenger the market rates, at +550 (6.50)
• Antonelli scored nothing at Silverstone after a wheel shield failure and a five-second penalty left him 16th
• Hamilton has won at Spa six times, more than any driver on the current grid

How the title race stands going into Spa

Antonelli’s lead has halved in two rounds. Silverstone was the second race running in which his team-mate out-scored him: Russell won in Austria, then took a home podium at the British Grand Prix — a race Antonelli should have been contesting for the win.

Instead his Mercedes broke. Running second behind Leclerc late on, a front-left wheel shield failure destroyed the car’s turn-in. He finished ninth, and a five-second track-limits penalty dropped him to 16th.

“We had the problem with the wheel shield that broke. It looks like it is brake duct, cake tin, wheel shield. Something got stuck in there and that’s why he wasn’t able to turn,” said Toto Wolff, Team Principal at Mercedes. (F1i)

Why Ferrari have forced their way back in

Leclerc’s British Grand Prix win — his first in more than two years — reframed the season. Ferrari hold third and fourth, Hamilton on 147 points and Leclerc on 108, with the car that carried the strongest race pace at Silverstone.

The constructors’ market has not caught up. Mercedes are heavy favourites at -1000 (1.10), but Ferrari at +550 (6.50) are the only team given a path. Red Bull, with Max Verstappen seventh on 76 points, sit at +6600.

Reliability and the Ardennes weather factor

Spa is the wrong circuit at which to carry a reliability problem. At 7.004 km it is the longest track on the calendar, and Eau Rouge onto the Kemmel straight punishes any car that cannot be trusted at full commitment. Ardennes weather compounds it: one sector is routinely wet while another stays dry, compressing the field and rewarding the deepest wet-weather record at the circuit — which fits Hamilton better than anyone here.

The Betting Angle

Favourite: Antonelli. bet365 makes him the -188 (1.53) title favourite, and he is shortest in the race-winner market, which as of July 8, 2026 had him around +162 (2.62), ahead of Russell at +275 (3.75) and Hamilton at +350 (4.50).

Predicted result: Antonelli wins from Russell, Hamilton third — a call on car pace, not sentiment. The margin should be small, and a Ferrari one-two is live if Spa turns wet.

Markets worth a look:

  • Hamilton podium finish — six Belgian Grand Prix wins, more than any active driver, and Ferrari’s Silverstone race pace was the best in the field.
  • Leclerc fastest lap — he won at Silverstone on outright pace, and Ferrari’s tyre management has been the story of the last two rounds.
  • Russell top-three finish — an Austrian win and a Silverstone podium in his last two starts.

What to fade: Verstappen at around +1100. The price reflects name recognition more than car pace — Red Bull are +6600 in the constructors’ market and he is 103 points off the lead.
