Asmongold says he turned down $20 million in gambling ads

In May 2022, Zack Hoyt, who streams as Asmongold, was still describing a gambling sponsorship as money nobody had offered him. On a Kick stream on October 13, 2026, he said gambling-ad offers of more than $20 million had already come, in 2021 and 2022, and that he had turned them down. The sum is claimed. He named no company, and neither report produced a contract.

What Asmongold said on the October 13 stream

Dexerto's Connor Bennett filed at 12:23 on October 14, 2026. IBTimes UK filed at 2:12 p.m. British Summer Time the same day. One transcript says "$20-plus million offers". The other says "$20-plus million-dollar offers". Dirk posted a clip of about 34 seconds at 18:35 UTC on October 13 and, nine seconds later, linked Hoyt's Kick channel.

"I have received $20-plus million offers to do gambling sponsorships. Back in, like, 2021-2022, dude, they were throwing tens of millions of dollars at people."

Asmongold, Kick stream, October 13, 2026 (Dexerto, archived, IBTimes UK, clip)

IBTimes UK wrote that the figure remains unverified. Its account had no contract and named no company. Dexerto's lede said around $20 million, and its headline said over $20 million. The quoted words are the plus, not a signed fee.

What the claimed $20 million leaves out

A refusal is not a filing. The checklist of what October 13 supports is short.

  • He said gambling-sponsorship offers to him exceeded $20 million. That figure is claimed.
  • He placed those offers in 2021 and 2022. That timing is claimed.
  • He said he refused them because he does not like gambling and is already rich. That reason is claimed.
  • No operator is named. No contract or payment record has been published.
  • A May 18, 2022 line, reported by Dexerto, was a hypothetical monthly figure, not this claim.

Hoyt gave up a fee he says was offered. Neither report shows a counterparty or a signature. What Togi has said casinos pay him is the same kind of claim, a creator's number rather than a document.

The May 2022 sum was monthly

Dexerto's Alex Tsiaoussidis, in a piece updated on May 21, 2022, wrote that on May 18 Hoyt said he would refuse a gambling sponsorship even at "$20 million a month". The words "a gambling sponsor" sit in Dexerto's brackets. The monthly figure is claimed, and it was hypothetical.

The two figures are different deals. May was a monthly hypothetical. October was a claimed total, with no rate attached.

Where he puts the viewers' loss

IBTimes UK transcribed his argument from that stream. Viewers, he said, "are losing more money collectively than you are going to get paid." He called it "trickle-up economics." He gave no wagering volume and no return-to-player, so expected loss cannot be recomputed. He described no session. Neither he nor any operator has said a balance, his or a sponsor's, was in play.

Twitch's safety post of October 18, 2022 barred streams of listed slots, roulette and dice sites that lacked a licence in the United States or in another jurisdiction with protections such as deposit limits. Poker stayed allowed. Hoyt has not said which rule the offers assumed (snapshot, November 2, 2024).

Kick did not force the refusal

The October 13 remarks were on Kick, and the refusal was his. Kick's community guidelines, updated March 19, 2026 and read on October 15, 2026, allow sponsored gambling only where the platform holds a valid licence in the relevant jurisdiction, with the link disclosed and the stream age-labelled. They also say: "Under no circumstances may minors participate in gambling-related activities." A March 23, 2026 snapshot follows the update line by four days.

Labelling the stream and disclosing the deal would have been enough, under those rules, for a promotion he says he did not want. The bar on minors is the audience point. Britain's consultation on criminal penalties for unlicensed gambling sponsorship is the regulatory form of the same question. Kick's listing as an official esports broadcaster is context, not a finding on these offers.

Chat had called the refusal stupid. Both transcripts record the answer. "Like, I'm already rich. Like, why would I ever do something that I don't want to do?"
